How do I import creatives from Google Drive to Meta ads?
Ads Manager has no native Google Drive connection, so the manual route is to download the files from Drive to your machine and upload them in the ad creation flow or the media library. To skip the round trip, use a launcher that connects to Drive directly, pulls the folder, and publishes the files as ads. Volume Creatives does this: pick the Drive folder, pick the ad sets, publish.

The manual route, and where it costs you
Select the files in Drive, download, wait for the zip, unzip, then upload into Ads Manager. For five files this is fine. For a weekly batch of forty from an editor it is twenty minutes of shuffling per launch, and it introduces the two failure modes that hurt most: the wrong version of a file gets uploaded because two edits share a name, and the local copy drifts from the Drive copy so nobody is sure which one is live. The work is not hard, it is just repeated, which is exactly the kind of work worth automating.
Naming discipline in Drive
Whatever route you use, the file name is the only metadata that survives the trip into Meta. Put the concept, the variant and the aspect ratio in the file name, for example hook-testimonial-v3-9x16.mp4. That way the ad name generated from the file is already meaningful, the reporting reads clearly six weeks later, and a teammate can find the source file from an ad name alone. Version numbers in the name also stop the two files with the same name problem before it starts.
Connecting Drive directly
A connected launcher authenticates against Drive with read access, lists your folders, and streams the selected files straight to Meta as ad creative. Nothing lands on your laptop, so there is no unzip step and no stale local copy. Volume Creatives keeps the file name through to the ad name template, so a folder of well named creatives becomes a batch of well named ads without renaming anything by hand. Dropbox works the same way if that is where your editors deliver.
Format checks before you import
Drive will happily hold files Meta will not accept. Check that videos are in a supported container, that aspect ratios match the placements you intend, and that file sizes are within Meta's limits before a batch import, because a rejection at upload time is discovered halfway through a launch. Exporting from the editor in the ratios you actually place, rather than exporting one master and letting Meta crop, is also what keeps Advantage plus enhancements from reframing your creative in ways you did not choose.
A Drive connection reads your files, which means the folder you connect should contain creative and nothing else. Point it at a dedicated ads folder rather than a shared drive root, both for speed and so that no unrelated document is ever in scope.
