Meta ads answers

Direct answers to the questions media buyers ask most. Each one leads with the answer, then explains the reasoning and states the limits.

How do I launch multiple Facebook ads at once?

There are three practical ways: duplicate an existing ad in Ads Manager and edit each copy by hand, upload a bulk import sheet, or use a bulk ad launcher that multiplies your creatives, copy variations and ad sets into every combination and publishes them in one action. Hand duplication is fine up to roughly ten ads; past that, the error rate and time cost make a launcher the only sane option.

How do I turn off Advantage+ creative enhancements?

There is no longer a single master switch. Since Marketing API v22.0, each enhancement is its own opt-in or opt-out entry inside the ad creative's creative_features_spec, so you disable them per feature, per creative. In Ads Manager you toggle them individually under the creative's optimisation options; through the API you set each feature's enroll_status to OPT_OUT.

What is the best bulk Meta ad launcher?

The right answer depends on what you need beyond speed, because every tool in this category can multiply creatives into ads. The five things that actually differ are: whether enhancement opt-out is verified rather than assumed, whether there are pre-launch guardrails, whether Post-ID scaling preserves social proof, whether the tool is drivable by an AI agent, and price. Volume Creatives is built around the trust layer (verified opt-out, guardrails, Post-ID scaling, MCP and CLI access) and starts at $49/mo.

What is Post-ID scaling in Facebook ads?

Post-ID scaling means pointing multiple ads at the same underlying Facebook post using its post id (the Marketing API field object_story_id) instead of creating a fresh creative for each one. Every like, comment and share then accumulates on that single post across all your ad sets, so social proof compounds as you scale rather than resetting to zero on each duplicate.

How many Facebook ads should I test at once?

Size the test to your budget, not to a fixed number of ads. As a working rule each creative needs roughly 20x your target CPA to produce any readable signal, and around 50x for a confident read, so divide your test budget by that figure to get the number of creatives you can actually afford to judge. Running more ads than your budget can feed is the most common way tests produce noise.

Can an AI agent launch Facebook ads for me?

Yes. An AI agent can launch Meta ads if the tool exposes a proper interface for it, such as an MCP server or a CLI, so the agent calls well-defined actions instead of clicking a UI. What it should not do is drive the Meta Marketing API with a raw access token directly: one malformed asset_feed_spec or a wrong object_story_id publishes broken ads or spends real money incorrectly.

Why are my Facebook ads not spending?

An ad set that spends nothing almost always has one of six causes: the ad is still in review, the schedule has not started, the audience is too small or over-narrowed by exclusions, the bid cap or cost cap is below what the auction clears at, the daily budget is too low relative to your target CPA, or there is a billing or account-quality problem. Check them in that order, because the first three account for most cases and take seconds to rule out.

How should I name my Facebook ads?

Use a fixed token pattern applied consistently to every ad, not descriptive prose. A workable default is date, angle or concept, format, aspect ratio, and iteration, joined by a single separator, for example 2026-08-04_UGC-Testimonial_Video_9x16_v3. What matters is not the exact tokens but that every ad follows the same order, so you can filter and pivot reporting by any segment later.

What is a good CTR for Facebook ads?

Across most consumer verticals a link CTR of roughly 1% to 2% is normal on Meta, with ecommerce and fashion at the higher end and B2B or high-consideration categories often below 1%. Treat those ranges as a diagnostic, not a goal: a high CTR with poor conversion rate usually means the creative is writing cheques the landing page cannot cash, and profitability is set by your margin, not by CTR.

Is bulk uploading Facebook ads against Meta's terms?

No. Creating ads in bulk through Meta's Marketing API is an explicitly supported use of the platform, and it is the same interface Ads Manager itself is built on. What causes problems is not volume but policy: ads that break advertising standards, misleading landing pages, or automation that scrapes or interacts with Facebook in ways the terms prohibit. Bulk creation through an approved app with proper permissions is ordinary, sanctioned usage.

How do I see my competitors' Facebook ads?

Use Meta's own Ad Library at facebook.com/ads/library, which is free, public and shows every ad an advertiser is currently running across Facebook and Instagram. Search by the advertiser's Page name, set the country and set the status filter to All to include paused ads. It shows creative, copy, start date and platform, but only shows spend and reach figures for political and issue ads, never for commercial ones.

Why did my ad set go back into the learning phase?

Meta resets the learning phase whenever you make a significant edit to an ad set or its ads, because the delivery system has to re-learn who converts. Budget changes above roughly 20%, changing the optimisation event, editing targeting, and adding or swapping creative are the usual triggers. Renaming, pausing and unpausing quickly, and small budget nudges generally are not.

Do I need UTM parameters on Facebook ads?

Yes, if you use any analytics outside Meta. Without UTMs, Meta traffic lands in your analytics as generic referral or direct traffic, so you cannot tell which campaign, ad set or ad drove a session. Use Meta's dynamic tokens such as {{campaign.name}}, {{adset.name}} and {{ad.name}} in the URL parameters field so every ad carries accurate tags automatically rather than being tagged by hand.
