How do I launch the same ads into multiple ad sets?

In Ads Manager, select the ads, choose Duplicate, and pick multiple destination ad sets in the duplication dialog, which creates a copy of each ad in each ad set. For more than a handful of combinations, a bulk launcher that multiplies creatives by ad sets is faster and avoids the per copy renaming and URL checking that duplication leaves you with. If you want the copies to share likes and comments, launch them from the same post ID instead of as separate uploads.

Duplicating across ad sets

Select one or more ads, choose Duplicate, and the dialog lets you pick several destination ad sets at once, including ad sets in other campaigns. Meta creates one copy per destination. What it does not do is finish the job: each copy carries the original name, so you get five ads with identical names in five ad sets, and the reporting becomes unreadable. Rename as you go or adopt a naming template that includes the ad set, otherwise you will be reverse engineering which row is which a month later.

The multiplication approach

A bulk launcher inverts the workflow. Instead of copying an ad N times, you declare the inputs: these six creatives, these three copy variations, these four ad sets. The launcher produces every combination, names each one from a template that can include the ad set name, the creative name and the date, appends UTM parameters, and publishes the batch. Seventy two ads is the same amount of work as six. This is the case bulk launchers exist for, and it is why testing matrices that would be impractical by hand become routine.

When copies compete with each other

Putting the same creative into several ad sets that target overlapping audiences means your own ad sets bid against each other in the auction. Meta's own guidance is to avoid heavy audience overlap, and the symptom is rising CPMs with no change in performance. Broad targeting reduces this because Meta deduplicates delivery to a degree, but stacked interest ad sets with the same creative are the classic overlap trap. If you are testing creative, vary the creative and hold the audience constant; if you are testing audience, hold the creative constant and watch overlap.

Keeping social proof across ad sets

Every fresh upload starts at zero likes and comments even when the creative is identical. Launching from an existing post ID instead means all the copies point at the same underlying post, so engagement accumulates in one place and every placement shows the same social proof. This matters most for creatives that have already earned comments worth showing. The trade off is that comments are shared too, so a creative with an unhelpful comment thread carries that thread everywhere.

The dynamic creative exception

Ad sets with dynamic creative turned on accept exactly one ad. Duplicating four ads into a dynamic creative ad set fails on ads two, three and four, usually with an error that does not make the reason obvious. If your ad set names include markers like DCT, it is worth checking before a bulk push. Volume Creatives reads the ad set setting and warns before publishing rather than letting the batch half fail.

More ad sets is not automatically more learning. Each ad set needs enough conversions to exit the learning phase on its own, so splitting a fixed budget across many ad sets can leave all of them under fed. Add ad sets when you have budget to support them, not to look thorough.
