How do I bulk upload Facebook ads?
There are three working methods. Use the Ads Manager bulk import sheet if your creatives are already uploaded to the account and you are comfortable with its exact column format. Use duplication for fewer than about ten ads. Use a bulk ad launcher if you want to upload the creative files themselves and have every creative, copy variation and ad set combination built and published in one action.

Method 1: the Ads Manager bulk import sheet
In Ads Manager, select campaigns and choose Export to get a spreadsheet in Meta's exact format, edit or add rows, then Import. This works well for structural changes across an existing account. Two limits catch people out. First, the sheet does not upload creative files, so every image and video must already exist in the ad account before the row referencing it will import. Second, the column names and value formats are strict: a single wrong header, a currency symbol in a budget cell, or a date in the wrong format fails the import, often with an error that does not name the offending row.
Method 2: duplication
Select an ad, choose Duplicate, pick destination ad sets, and Meta copies the creative and settings. The copy is not the finished job. You still rename each ad, re-check the destination URL and UTM string, re-check Advantage plus creative enhancements, and confirm the right page and pixel. Every one of those is a small manual step with a small failure rate, and the failures compound across a batch. Roughly ten ads is the practical ceiling before something slips, and the mistakes are the quiet expensive kind: a stale UTM does not throw an error, it just spends money on traffic you cannot attribute.
Method 3: a bulk ad launcher
You upload the creative files themselves, add a few copy variations, pick the destination ad sets, and the launcher builds every creative by ad set by copy combination, names each ad from a template, appends UTM parameters and publishes the batch through the Meta Marketing API. The difference from the other two methods is where the per-ad work happens: naming, tagging and settings become configuration you set once, so forty ads costs roughly the same effort as four. Volume Creatives also opts out of Advantage plus creative enhancements per creative and verifies afterwards what Meta actually applied.
The order of operations that avoids rework
Whatever method you pick, this sequence saves the most time. Confirm the destination ad sets exist and are configured first, with the right optimisation event, budget and audience. Prepare creatives in every aspect ratio you intend to place. Write the copy variations. Build the combinations. Review the full list of ads that will be created before anything publishes. Then publish paused. Publishing paused separates the mechanical act of creating ads from the financial act of spending on them, so a mistake caught late costs you an archive click instead of a day of budget.
What Meta limits you to
Meta enforces per ad account limits on the number of ads that can exist and on how fast the API accepts writes. Standard accounts sit in the thousands of ads, and rate limits mean a very large batch is uploaded in waves rather than instantly. Dynamic creative ad sets are a separate case: they accept exactly one ad, so a bulk push into a dynamic creative ad set will fail on every ad after the first. A launcher that knows about that constraint warns you before you publish rather than after.
Bulk uploading does not change how Meta reviews ads. Every ad in a batch still goes through the same review, so a policy problem in your shared copy or landing page will get the whole batch rejected at once rather than one ad at a time.
